GREAT APPRECIATION TO OUR EXHIBITORS, PRESENTERS, READERS, AND VOLUNTEERS. SPECIAL THANKS TO HILLAY CHARNAS, GINEEN lEE COOPER, AND JOHN PETER WENTWORTH FOR EXCEPTIONAL SUPPORT IN CREATING AND SETTING UP OUR “BOOKSTORE FOR A DAY.”
And very special thanks to poet Don fisher for teaching us about cliches, and to everyone else who shared their work right out loud with us.
The Fair was a Free Public Event for makers and lovers of handcrafted books, zines, and self-published writing.
We transformed into Make-It Springfield into an eclectic bookstore with a welcoming lounge area where visitors could meet the authors of the books on display, and where authors and makers could get to know each other better.
For a list of exhibitors, including bios and contact info, see this page.
The morning session offered two workshops from 10 – noon. Presenters were local author Crystal Senter-Brown and cartoonist Kane Lynch. (For more info, click here.)
Afternoon will and offer an opportunity for makers to show off and sell their books, zines, and related items. Visitors also found a selection of used books available for sale, with proceeds to go to Make-It Springfield.
As an added attraction, several local poets and writers stepped up to the mic and present their work.
